Here are 10 of the best coffeehouses in New Orleans that we think you should check out:
1. Baldwin and Company
Where: Marigny
A new independent bookstore that serves coffee and tasty treats opened in New Orleans on February 20th 2021. There’s even a podcast studio, to help the many creatives in the city! The coffee will also make this spot your new favorite NOLA obsession.
2. Mammoth Espresso
Where: Warehouse District
A cute, local coffeeshop with friendly staff, Mammoth is perfect for that pre-work pick-me-up. They have a large selection of drinks available, continuously staying innovative and creative with their menu.
3. Café Beignet
Where: Several locations
NOLA is famous for its café au lait, and it doesn’t get more authentic than Café Beignet. With four locations around the city, make sure you check out the Bourbon and Royal locations. You can enjoy your cup of Joe on one of their gorgeous terraces.
4. Church Alley Café
Where: Mid-City
A community-driven café, you can grab a great cup of coffee at Church Alley. They also have an incredible shop. Make sure you get one of their Cold Brew Growlers so you’re good for the entire week!
5. Backatown Coffee Parlor
Where: Iberville
There’s always great music playing at Backatown. Perfect to get you through work, or for a catch-up with friends! It’s not just the coffee that’s hot at this parlor, we’re in love with their matcha! They also have a super cute outdoor space to enjoy your treats in the sweet Louisiana air!
6. Morning Call
Where: City Park
This is a coffee hotspot with a little history. What was once a coffee stand in City Park is now a Canal Boulevard beignet haven! Get your coffee with one of their beignets and you’ve just had yourself the perfect start to any day in New Orleans!
7. Spitfire Coffee
Where: French Quarter
Spitfire opened in 2013 as one of the first specialty coffee shops in New Orleans. With friendly staff and delicious coffee beans, Spitfire is a great contender when trying to find the perfect cup of Joe for you in NOLA.
8. Treme Coffeehouse
Where: Treme
A neighborhood hotspot, you’ve got to check out Treme Coffeehouse when you’re in the area, New Orleans! We suggest anything with whipped cream as their sweet treats are awesome. But their espresso makes any coffee you purchase worth another visit, and another!
9. Hey! Cafe & Coffee Roastery
Where: Uptown
Having to close their Magazine Street location, Hey! Cafe is now located at one of NOLA’s most iconic music venues. Tipitina’s has been staple of New Orleans music and culture since 1977, and is now home to one of its best coffeehouses. They have a variety of coffee drinks, along with a menu of bagels, pastries, and breakfast tacos.

Where: Tulane-Gravier
A great selection of world-class coffee at this spot just off Canal Street. Coffee Science also serves pastries, sandwiches, and salads. You can even get a farm box at this local coffeehouse favorite, filled with fresh veggies and meal-prep.

Where: East Carrollton
This funky hangout on magazine street is a great option if you’re craving a coffee. Their quirky interiors are incredibly cozy. It’s the perfect place to get lost in literature, or hangout with friends.

On the corner of Laurel and Upperline is this cute coffee hotspot. We recommend their trademark beverage the Stella which is a 1:1 ratio (espresso to water) iced americano. Sometimes it’s the only way to start the day.
